Understand the fluctuations of the dollar throughout November

In November 2023, the financial market witnessed a scenario of fluctuation in the value of the dollar. According to UOL data, at the end of the month, the dollar experienced an increase of 0.57%, closing the trading session at R$ 4.915.

This appreciation during November is considered common for the period, as it is a time when companies and funds typically intensify their demand for the U.S. currency. This practice occurs due to preparations for sending resources abroad, marking a seasonal movement in the foreign exchange market.

Despite the gains throughout the month, it is important to note that the dollar ended November with a cumulative decrease of 2.48%, after three consecutive months of appreciation. This significant reduction was the most expressive since June, when the dollar recorded a decline of 5.58%, as reported by CNN.

Analysis of this scenario reveals that, even with positive inflation data in the United States in October, investors chose to adjust their positions in relation to expectations regarding the Federal Reserve’s interest rate policy for 2024. According to information from Infomoney, there was a decrease in bets around the start of the interest rate reduction process, thus influencing the trajectory of the dollar.

In a globalized and dynamic context, the dollar remains sensitive to a variety of factors, including economic indicators, monetary policies, and international events. November 2023 was marked by a fluctuation in the value of the dollar, reflecting the complexity and volatility characteristic of the global financial environment.
